Spandrel Glass
Architectural opaque glass for a seamless, modern facade.
Spandrel glass is the opaque glass that hides floor slabs, mechanical spaces and ceiling plenums on a glass facade so the whole building reads as one continuous surface. RPM Glass supplies and installs ceramic-frit, silicone-coated and back-painted spandrel to match or contrast your vision glass.
We match spandrel color to vision-glass tint and reflectivity so the facade looks uniform in daylight, and we handle insulated spandrel units with mineral wool backing for thermal performance. Spandrel is also used decoratively — as colored accent panels, wall cladding and backsplashes in retail and office interiors.
Replacement of cracked or delaminated spandrel on existing curtain wall is a specialty; we remove, template and re-glaze individual panels without disturbing the surrounding system.
